Hello, all.

As you may have noticed, it has been a while since I updated my blog. I could try and fob you off with some half-baked excuse, but the truth is, I was kidnapped by orcs and held prisoner on Middle Earth.

Ahem.

So why the radio silence? Unfortunately, my publishers passed on the rest of the Chronicles of the Exile series, so I decided to take a break from writing book four. During that time, I have done a range of things from writing a short story for Unfettered 3, to producing scripts for a Youtube channel called Watchmojo UK, to helping edit a book my wife has written.

Choosing my next step has not been easy, particularly since my tastes in reading have changed over the years. I haven’t picked up a fantasy book in a loooong time. But I wanted to complete the Chronicles of the Exile, and a few months ago, I resumed writing book four. As of now, I am about two thirds of the way through draft two. With a fair wind, it will be published in 2024/2025.

Thanks to everyone who has supported the series and waited patiently for an update.

In the meantime, I have some other good news. I have been reading a lot of thrillers recently, and – as the adage goes – you should ‘write what you read’. So that’s what I have done – written a thriller. It is called ‘All Lies Hidden’ and it is coming out on 30 September this year. Here is the cover with the blurb:

Naturally, the book is very different to the Chronicles of the Exile. But if you liked my characterisation, humour, and writing style from the Chronicles, then you are sure to enjoy ‘All Lies Hidden’. I will put up an extract from the book on my website soon.
